Bye-Bye soft top
October 24, 2010 by Andreas Reinhold

As I like the hard top so much, I’ve decided to save some weight and get extra trunk space by removing the soft top. After reading this post on, I was sure, that this could be done quickly. So I removed the hard top and started to disassemble the soft top:

Everything went well, and after 30 minutes I pulled out the soft top. This is easily reversible and the top is still in good condition. I drilled out the rivets of the rain rail, so I could use it again without the soft top.

After fitting all pieces back into place straightening the carpet, I was ready to put the hard top back on. Lots of extra space for photo gear now behind the seats :-)

1 hour later: Done :-)
